Whose World is Overpopulated?

So I was just discussing the world's "overpopulation." We were talking about two things specificially on how those who think that we should have abortion and stem cell research are worried about the world's population. Firstly, if you support abortion as a deterent for the "threat of overpopulation," then do you also support women in China being forced through sex selection to abort their female babies? Or do you support a woman not having a choice if she wants her children or not because she already has a child, and the government doesn't think that they can handle more children?

Secondly, if you are worried about the overpopulation of the world, which is a myth in and of itself being that the world population is "scheduled" to max out at somewhere around 11 billion in 2050 and then significantly drop off, then why do you support embryonic stem cell research? Why do you support stem cell research at all? All it's going to do is increase the world's population. By having more people be able to remain alive through science's aid, then the world population is going to increase. But, maybe you actually support it because the cells have been seen to revert to their original form and actually cause cancer in the patient, thus creating a life threatening situation. So if you know that to be true, then maybe your support of embryonic stem cell research would at least be consistent with your choice to kill babies in the womb. But, I doubt you read that study from Britain. So what does that mean? I don't really know.

All I do know though is that the world is not overpopulated, and you can fit the entire world's population in Texas with the density of New York City. How much other land does that give us? A whole heck of a lot.

An interesting reply to anyone suggesting that the world is overpopulated is to demand to know exactly who doesn't belong here and how we should get rid of them.
