The Classes Begin

So, if any of you have read my old "blog" on livejournal.com, especially the entries about my Biblical History class (i.e. Disproof of the Most Holy Bible?, The Beauty of Miracles, and Divinely Inspired Words of the Lord), you might see that I haven't the best luck with classes and good teachers. Well, things might be changing this semester...hopefully.

I am currently taking a class at Catholic University of America calles "Medieval Pilgrimages." This class is all about saints, relics, Rome, the Church, and everything awesome. Today we talked about how the veneration of saints helped to spread the Church across the world. One of the authors we had to read talked about saints as being heaven united with earth in that their souls are in heaven, while their bodies are on earth, and their miracles are signs that they are still with us even if they are currently witnessing the beatific vision. How much cooler does a class for a student at the University of Maryland get than that? Not to mention the fact that there is a Crucifix on the wall in the classroom and the fact that our teacher had to leave class early because she was part of the procession in the opening Mass starting Catholic U.'s school year. Hopefully she will be on par with the Church and the magisterium.
