Put on a Wedding Dress
Put on a wedding dress, or tux if you're a guy. That's right, in today's Gospel, Christ instructs us to wear wedding attire when going to the feast. Most directly, the feast is heaven, which is very true, but we can also think of the feast as the Mass. Since the Mass is heaven on Earth, we must wear nice outfits when going to Mass. Now, it's good on Sunday to wear nice clothes, but the Gospel is speaking more directly about our souls. They need to be clean from all impurities, especially mortal sin. We cannot approach the dinner table with a giant stain on our clothes. Otherwise, Christ will throw us out into the street where there will be "wailing and grinding of teeth." So, if you have mortally sinned, go to Confession before you receive next. God's mercy is endless, but so is His justice. Don't mess with something such as the Eucharist. In other words, don't mess with God, truly present in the Eucharist for if you do, you "eat and drink condemnation upon yourself." Which is easier, going to Confession or spending all time in Hell? You tell me.
